Let's be honest about why people don't speak up.

It's not laziness. It's not apathy. Most of the time, it's fear. Fear of being wrong. Fear of looking like a know-it-all. Fear of stepping on someone's experience. Fear of the guy who doesn't take correction well.

That fear is real. And if your crew culture doesn't address it, peer accountability is dead before it starts.

Here's the thing. You don't have to call someone out. You just have to call it out. There's a difference. One attacks the person. The other addresses the situation.

"Hey, I noticed something. Can we talk it through?"

That one sentence changes everything. It's not a confrontation. It's a conversation. And it signals that you're on the same team.

Before your first task today, ask yourself: What's stopping me from speaking up when I see something? Is that reason worth someone going home hurt?
